IN BETA

Traveling Mailbox is looking at establishing a VPN Service. Obviously we have thousands of travelers all over the world so this might be a good service to provide to our customers. Thoughts?

If you can provide a reliable access to NETFLIX, ESPN and the like at a reasonable price we would be interested.

I'm curious what use-cases you're trying to address. I already use another VPN provider, so I'd also be curious what might differentiate you.

I do know that I've had a few issues accessing banking services while traveling abroad and VPN tends to help there. However, some companies are pretty aggressive about identifying IP address pools owned by a VPN provider. So I guess if you were offering dedicated IPs, guaranteed disposal of access logs and other standard features, I'd be interested to hear more.

Good Morning,

So the goal is to provide customers with the ability to sign on to a VPN while you are Traveling so no matter where you are, you can protect your data and keep access to your important sites. So whether you are at a coffee shop, airport, living abroad, we want to be able to provide VPN Services (IPSec).

We do own our own IP Block with ARIN so we could issue Dedicated IP's if needed but that would probably be another phase to the project. We are going to do some bench marking and testing with everyone to see how it works to determine a path forward as well.

Please keep the comments and questions going!

I am very interested, primarily because I am confident we can anticipate that the quality of service and support of the mail forwarding service would be mirrored by the VPN service.

Please be sure to leave a comment if you are interested. We will be ready for BETA Testing Soon!

I'd like to see exactly what you would be offering and at what price point.

Look to ironsocket as a reference for good functionality. You'd need features like whitelisting IPs (for apple tv boxes), a phone app and also for desktop. Personally, it comes down to functionality for me, the cost is important however secondary.

We travel a lot so we would very interested for security for accessing our financial and other personal sites as well as for watching Netflix and entertainment. Cost and convenience would be important as well.

Hi Mohammed ... Mobile may come second. The plan was to get it so you can easily configure it for Windows. Perhaps the ability to add a client as well if needed.

Project Update: We received the licenses for the equipment. We will now be working to setup and configure and BETA will be ready.

Great idea! As a subscriber, would be interested in the following features: the QoS (# of IP Addresses / Servers), how many devices could be logged in simultaneously, the logging policy, app filtering capability, and iOS compatibility.

Hi Peter,

Please give it a try! There is no logging and we do not have a device limit set at this time. We need as many people as we can to test the system at this time.

Thanks!

Depends on how accessible and reliable the VPN service is... I had a couple of VPNs and the way the issues were handled when encountered told me everything about them.

I am interested. Would need tutoring, as I have hesitated to adopt VPN because I don't understand it.

Hello everyone!

Our VPN Service is now IN BETA! This will provide us a good starting point and help guide us in the right direction. So in order to get started with it, please email us at Support@TravelingMailbox.com requesting access and we will add you and send you over a documentation sheet on how to set it up.

The VPN can be used on Windows, MacOS, and any other client that allows for VPN.

Thanks!

Hey all. So we had a bit of a setback on the system tie in. This is actively being worked on though and I hope to have it done very soon (any day now). This should make everything easier once we have this piece done.
